HomeCleaning Tips for Barbados Homes & Rentals › A Turnover Checklist for Barbados Holiday Rentals

CHECKOUT TO CHECK-IN.
NOTHING MISSED.

A room-by-room checklist hosts can use between guests, and hand to whoever does the clean.

Use booking form

Before the clean starts

  • Confirm checkout and next check-in times so the cleaning window is realistic.
  • Note any guest reports: a blocked drain, a broken lamp, a missing remote.
  • Decide who supplies linen, towels and consumables, and whether laundry is part of the visit.

Bedrooms

  • Strip and remake beds with fresh linen; check under the bed and in drawers for left items.
  • Wipe bedside tables, lamps, switches and wardrobe handles.
  • Check hangers, safe, and that the AC remote works and has batteries.

Bathrooms

  • Clean and disinfect the toilet, basin, shower and taps; polish mirrors and chrome.
  • Replace towels and bath mats; check the shower drain and extractor fan.
  • Restock toilet paper, soap and any welcome toiletries.

Kitchen

  • Empty the fridge of guest food and wipe the shelves; check the freezer for ice build-up.
  • Clean the hob, microwave, kettle and toaster crumb tray; run or empty the dishwasher.
  • Count crockery, glasses and cutlery against your inventory and note breakages.

Living areas, balconies and outside

  • Vacuum and mop floors, including under cushions and rugs; wipe remotes and switches.
  • Sweep the balcony or patio, wipe outdoor furniture and check for salt film on glass.
  • Check the pool area, if any, for towels, toys and rubbish, and that outdoor lights work.

Final walk-through

Walk every room as if you were the arriving guest. Look for hair on tiles, smudges on glass, a full bin, or a light left on. Photograph each room once it is ready; the photos are useful if a guest later raises a question. If you want a cleaning team to work from this list, share it when you request an Airbnb turnover clean so the scope is agreed before the visit.
